Companies are profiting off the backs of port truck drivers, a class of exploited workers who are a crucial lynchpin in our economy.
Occupy is bidding to shut down America's west coast ports in support of an ongoing International Longshore Workers Union battle.
The decision by an outside group to shut down the ports and cause workers to lose a day’s pay without them first getting their consent raises serious questions about the Occupy movement willingness to bypass a labor union's own democractic decisionmaking process.
