Naomi T

Naomi T, born Naomi Tatsuoka, is a singer, songwriter, bassist, who also plays some other instruments. Her debut album, Flight of the Dragon, is set to be released in Spring 2014. Doing music all her life, she collaborated on three Christmas albums of hymns and folk songs before she was eight years old. Her early years saw her as a mentor in a music school funded by Ted Turner, teaching other children in her age range the basics of bass, guitar, drums, and singing. Venues she played in her tweens and teens include various humanitarian events for veterans, Rotary Clubs, and Salvation Army benefits.

In college, Naomi continued to hone her musical skills, and after she graduated with a B.A. (her Plan B) in Japanese from CSU Monterey Bay, she set her sights on a life of music. Most recently, she has been working with Soul Provider, a vocal power trio with a residency at Cadigan's Corner Bar, located at the corner of 72nd and Harold. In Fall of 2013, she won the West Side Blues Association Otis Award for Female Singer of the Year. Her experience in the Portland music scene has included performances with various Northwest Women in Blues shows, as well as a set on the Spirit of Portland ship during the 2013 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival. She works closely with Tara Renee of Girl About Town Entertainment, a Portland local booking agency.
