Occupella's Christmas Carol Flash Mob Plan

Occupella plan on doing a well-orchestrated, rehearsed, and organized Flash Mob with 50+ committed members.

This would ideally also have the support of
  • Livestream
  • Photographers
  • A videographer to upload onto YouTube
  • Members of the community such as TUPAC (The United Performance Arts Collective)
  • First Unitarian Church Choir group
  • Maryhurst University Choir
  • The GA if possible.
Expectation of the Flash Mob
  • Participants should be willing to commit to the rehearsal date (at least one of the two mentioned) and be able to show up for the 18th at 2:00pm.
  • The carolers will be in a “choir-like” formation, singing to Stephanie Gilfillan’s rendition of “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
  • We are hopefully and planning on doing a basic performance while the carolers are singing, which would include holding up signs with wordings that are in sync with the tune and lyrics while “running” up and down the escalators, circling the group of carolers on the central arena of a ground floor. Ideally, we will have 20+ "escalator runners" and 50+ carolers.
  • It is important that we dress appropriately to not bring attention to yourself and our group so that security do not block us from entering and also to prevent others from suspecting us! Costumes are fine and encourage! We just need to be careful so that it is concealed until the moment we start, when a leading member will signify this with a "Carol Check!" Once the Carol Check is established, we will briskly get into our formation and began the caroling.

After the Flash Mob is done and over with, we will immediately disperse discreetly and attempt to blend in with the crowd. We will then meet up at another location to do a quick creative, peaceful protest, which will be announced at a meeting time in the near future.

This will also require everyone's involvement and presence.

Overall, we hope that the Flash Mob will not take longer than 1 hour.
