Riverview Cemetery is a wooded, hillside cemetery on west slope of the Willamette River, south of Downtown Portland. The western footings of the Sellwood Bridge stand near the base of the property.
Historical figures buried here include:
- Simon Benson
- Henry Failing (who co-founded the cemetery)
- William S. Ladd
- Dorothy Lee McCullough
- brewer Henry Weinhard
- Harvey Scott
- James Terwilliger
In May of 2011 the city of Portland agreed to purchase 146 densely wooded and undeveloped acres, of the original 350 acres, to be set aside as wildlife preserve.
