Tomorrow a group from Street Team committee, who organised followers yesterday without GA consensus, will begin marching from the Rose Quarter. They will be joined by the mayor’s office and** the Portland marathon chief officers, and the mayor’s office has graciously invited them to join the race, behind the runners at 2:30PM. They will follow them from the Rose Quarter, over the Broadway Bridge, along Naito Parkway, West on SW Jefferson to SW 4th to the occupied Chapman Park/camp/headquarters.

Together the city will also join in celebration of John Lennon’s birthday, singing his famous song, “Imagine.”

Imagine all the people, living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you will join us,

and the World will live as One.”

This has not been GA approved, only acknowledged by the GA.

“My understanding is that the GA approved a march at Noon, gathering at the PSU Park Blocks – see here. Choose for yourself which you will go to, or go to both. More information can be found in the comments to this post, the forums, and facebook.”

The official march will still start at the South Park Blocks. It is unclear whether the General Assembly has fully endorsed the second march with the Portland Marathon, but a large group is pushing for the two to come together. We will keep you informed as to the GA’s decision as it progresses. There is some confusion regarding the marches for Sunday the 9th.
