| On the Eastside, starts from a Morrison Bridge off-ramp that exits at SE Water and continues until it is interrupted at SE 10th. The street resumes at SE 12th, but is again interrupted two blocks later at SE 14th. Starting at SE 20th, the street begins anew and continues until it hits SE 45th. After making a brief appearance between SE 47th and SE 49th, Yamhill makes its longest continuous run on either side of the river, stretching from SE 55th to SE 94th. Beyond Interstate 205, Yamhill becomes increasingly fragmented, appearing a block or two at a time, before it finally terminates at SE 221st.

| On the Westside, SW Yamhill runs from SW Naito to SW 17th. It is a one-way street, with traffic flowing from the west towards the east. For the majority of the street, one lane is dedicated to MAX trains. Yamhill re-appears briefly in the King's Hill section of the Goose Hollow neighborhood, where it runs from SW 21st to a spur just off of SW St. Clair.
