Portland is a DIY (do it yourself) kind of town. Some examples of Portland's DIY culture are Portland's nationally famous semiannual craft fair Crafty Wonderland[1], active sewing, knitting, homebrewing, and urban agriculture scenes, and the many bicycle shops and tool libraries offering space and equipment for you to use on repairs. One place to start learning how to do things yourself is DIY Alert, a DIY events calendar.

Another great way to do things yourself is by editing an amazing website called PortlandWiki. You should check it out sometime.
