Occupy and labor: a teach-in and round-table discussion exploring solidarity, struggle, and social justice

Purpose

Join us to revel in our victories (D12 west coast port shutdown, Longview: bringing EGT to the bargaining table, etc), and to help assess our weaknesses and mistakes. Learn about current campaigns in support of workers under attack. Should Occupy organize the unorganized and the unemployed? Should we organize in support of immigrant workers threatened by Secure Communities, ICE raids and deportations? Should we mobilize to fight firings of workers for organizing on the job, wage theft, discrimination, and other employer abuses? How do we effectively challenge the jobs vs. the environment false dichotomy? How do we build a democratic green economy?
