Portland City Hall hosts the PBH Project “Portland Black History and Beyond”
We are proud to be hosting, from February 21 through 24th, a historical exhibit of Portlands Black historical landmarks. The exhibit is free and open to the public weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It spans the history of black Americans in Portland, Oregon from the 1900 through 1975, and is being brought to you by Portland Black History and Beyond, as a community project. It will be the first in a series of landmark exhibits and is established as a collectors piece based on the art work and customization used to define the pictures. We hope you will join us and bring your family with you.
The PBH project team of community members include Williard Bennett, Teressa Raiford, artist and creative director “FENIX LAX” and Evelyn Murray.
The official opening reception for the exhibit will feature the reading of official contributors and project vision and purpose written by WONE.

"The writing of history reflects the interests, predilections, and even prejudices of a given generation. This means that at the present time there is an urgent need to re-examine our past in terms of our present outlook."
