Hello and welcome to the wiki! :-) Please look at my edits on the page, as well as noticing that I changed the page back to the original title and moved your work back to the page. Let me know if you have any wiki related questions. Best, MarkDilley

Hi, if you can, check out Occupy Portland Wiki - we are trying to pull together folks working on the wiki. Best, MarkDilley

Here is the completed page: Demand Police Accountability

How do I get it into the event calendar?

Hi Dave,

I am seeing the pattern now :-) you are editing a page that exists - what we need to do is figure out what you want the event page to be... say Make Civilian Oversight Part of Portland's Charter or something, then copy your work on the existing page there and revert the page Demand Police Accountability back to the event it was. I can easily do that, and would love to show you how :-) your call! Best,

oh, and to put it on the events page, simply ind the date where it goes on Occupy Portland Events and add {{:Page Name Aka Demand Police Accountablity Or Make Civilian Oversight Part of Portland's Charter or whatever else}}. Let me know if that helps or is as clear as mud. Best,

Okay, here is the latest attempt: Put Police Accountability in the City Charter 09 January 12

It looks like I managedto get a listing in 'Next Week and Beyond' events. Will it automatically go into events of the current week, when that becomes appropriate?

I tried something under the heading you suggested; don't know whether that needs to be cleaned up, but I'll leave it to your expertise to put the other event back how it belongs.

BTW, 'Add your Event Page' links from here: How to create a new Occupy Portland event are broken.

Thanks for holding my hand, Mark!

You put it in the perfect place! It is all manual, one of the beautiful things about wiki, there is very little 'magic' here, it is all people rolling up their sleeves and building this place together :-) So either you or another person will move it when needed :-) I am going to go ahead and delete Make Civilian Oversight Part of Portland's Charter - if that is ok with you, it looks like a duplicate page. And Demand Police Accountability is the same currently, just needs to be reverted back to the last version before your new event changes. You can either go to the history tab on the page and edit the version before your changes, or I can easily do that. Will check out the links problem you pointed to and try and fix them. Finally, there are two basic types of links on a wiki, internal links and external links. External links look like http://Google.com and the cool thing about wiki is that you just need to type in [[Put Police Accountability in the City Charter 09 January 12]] and it links to Put Police Accountability in the City Charter 09 January 12.

I am super psyched you are here!! Best,

It's nice to be wanted, Mark ~ I know, from family history research on the 'Net, that I have a low threshold of interest and have problems persevering with a task when many branches appear.

Over time I may come to have the discipline to put something at the stubs we have created.

Thanks for your enthusiastic support.

Dave

Hello, Mark ~

This post used to ask for help. I think I was able to post a link to my 09 January 12 page into the list on this page:

I saw that you were successful in posting to the [[Occupy Portland Events]] (which is a WikiLink to Occupy Portland Events) - sorry for not following up! Best,
