'''Henry Weinhard''' was a German-born brewer who arrived in the area in 1857 and founded the brewer known as the "City Brewery".  

By 1890 it was the largest brewery in the Pacific Northwest.  His [[Weinhard Brewery Complex]] in northwest continued producing beer until 1999.  Weinhard is buried in [[Riverview Cemetery]].
