Jantzen Beach was an amusement park on Hayden Island that opened in 1928, and closed in 1970.
The Coney Island of the West was 123 acres, the largest amusement park in the nation at the time, featured the Big Dipper wooden roller coaster, and elaborate swimming pools (promoting the sale of Jantzen swim suits). Not much remains of the original park today.
