- Start a new page
- Add categories to pages
- Link pages to each other with [[wikilinks]]
- Upload your free photos, art, video, and audio, and then add it to a page
- Suggest topics you'd like to see written about
- Leave other editors constructive feedback on their talk page, this is one of the most useful things you can do and probably the easiest!
- Organize an event or meetup and post about it on the PW:Meetups page
- Technically minded? Check out the Technical Queue for infrastructure improvements we could use your help on!
Other fun ideas
PortlandWiki "Please Read" Banner
A few non-Wikipedia wikis currently mimic Wikipedia's "please read" banner that thrusts itself onto the tops of wiki pages the world over. Most of 'em are begging for monetary donations.
Perhaps a talented PortlandWiki contributor can construct one for PortlandWiki. Instead of cash, the PortlandWiki banner could solicit contributions like those itemized in the "to do" list above.
Rules:
No pics of Jimmy Donal "Jimbo" Wales allowed on PortlandWiki banners, please.

Great idea, but maybe too late now? WP's fundraising drive is pretty much over now, so may be no longer relevant... I think we missed the boat. 8( -kotra (talk) 20:36, 3 January 2011 (PST)
