Laurelwood is a pioneer of organic brewing in Portland, opened in 2001 by husband and wife Mike De Kalb and Cathy Woo-De Kalbwith as a seven barrel brewery. There location became well known as place that encouraged people to bring there kids, actually having a play are for children.
