| Remind everyone that the 99% are not just the representatives standing our ground in parks and empty lots across Oregon and the nation. Join the [[Oregon AFL-CIO]], [[AFSCME]], Laborers', and more unions for sure to come. The [[WE ARE OREGON]] drum core will also be there to put a beat to our steps!

| LABOR won't stand for corporatization of our communities - not on Wall Street and not in the City of Portland! GOOD jobs, NOT CUTS!

| === History ===
| |
| On October 6th, [[Occupy Portland]] began with thousands taking to the streets in downtown [[Portland]] to protest economic inequality, the scapegoating of working people, the vilification of labor unions, the exploitation of the unemployed and underemployed, and the corporate takeover of our communities. Occupy Portland kicked off with a huge march that included dozens of local unions and countless other worker groups. We are part of the 99% and we have the same goals as the Oregonians occupying parks across the state. It’s time to get back on the street and demand real job creation efforts and an economic system that works for the 99%. The march ended with protesters occupying a public park to speak for the 99% working for a living, not the 1% profiteering off the wealth of the world.
