The Council for Prostitution Alternatives is a Portland-based nonprofit that is working to help current sex workers leave the lifestyle. Headed by Lila Lee, the organization works with sex industry survivors to get them health care, drug or alcohol treatment if necessary, housing, counseling, and support.

Lee has said that, in order for someone to leave prostitution, they need a structure in place so that they will be less likely to return to the streets.[1] This structure includes: Alternative housing separate from current co-ed shelter location options, drug or alcohol rehabilitation, counseling, health care, assigning a caseworker, and getting additional job training skills to fully transition out of the lifestyle.[2]
