Dear fans of Authors in Pubs: A quick review of the July 2nd show. After a late start waiting for more people to arrive, I was able to move things around and the crowd didn’t seem to mind. Every writer was very agreeable to being moved to a different slot and I thank them for being flexible. It also seems that everyone knows who I am, so the joke about introducing myself didn’t fly. (again) | |||
The show had some very heart warming stories with a little comedy mixed in. Featured author Jonathan Ems pulled it all together at the end and everybody left smiling. Our artist, George Woodcock, brought some beautiful paintings. Please visit his studio and gallery in Multnomah Village. | |||

Local Writers Reading Original Works
Authors in Pubs is a 'First Monday' event that brings local writers into a bar, restaurant, or wherever and allows them to share their work with the patrons. This helps boost the confidence of the writer by getting first hand feedback on his/her work. We started in September, 2011 and the crowd has steadily grown so that we recently moved to a larger venue. The show runs about two hours and we invite you to show up early and stay after to talk with the writers or possibly buy their book. If you would like to contribute at a future event, please contact me in advance about being added to our current stable of writers. thanks, Don
