Hayden Island is an island in the Columbia River, and also a neighborhood in Portland.
The only road access to Hayden Island is via Interstate 5. It was once the location of Jantzen Beach. Hayden Island is split down the middle, with the northwest half wooded and relatively unoccupied, and the southeast half completely taken over with marinas and big-box retail for the sales-tax-avoiding shoppers from Washington state.
