Beer and Blog is a weekly meet/networking event based on bloggers helping bloggers over beers. It typically runs from 4-6 Pm every Friday at the Green Dragon, a local Portland bar. Events can attract up to a hundred people. Beer and Blog is typically outside in the summer and inside in the winter. Some bloggers show up early for client meetings or work before the official start time.

History

It started as a means to swap information among peers in the Portland tech scene. It has grown into a weekly happy hour for Portland area bloggers. Sometimes we work. Sometimes we discuss. Sometimes Beer and Bloggers go on a field trip. It’s the kind of place that is fun to network in, kindle ideas into side projects, or announce a software releases.

List of locations

Bloggers in other cities can open up chapters of Beer and Blog in their areas.

In addition to its "City of Books" location, Powell's Books also has several smaller stores:

  • Corvallis
  • Japan
