As a community dedicated to a free and open Internet, PortlandWiki is in solidarity with the English Wikipedia's 24-hour blackout.

Wikipedia joins many other websites in protest of the US House and Senate bills SOPA and PIPA. These bills could kill PortlandWiki – and any free-speech content-hosting website – due to increased liability, impractical content-screening requirements, and criminalization of commonly accepted privacy protections for people, among other threats.
