Purpose

Help us to make an agenda for the Saturday, 1/12/12 planning meeting. Saturday's planning meeting will be the first of a series of meetings to discuss, organize, and strategize about Portland's role in supporting Occupy Longview and ILWU Local 21 in their fight against mega-grain anti-union conglomerate EGT. EGT's new tax-break subsidized Longview grain terminal will be receiving its first ship in late-January. Labor and Occupy want to stop EGT from using scab labor to load the grain on to this ship.

The Longview action was consensed on by the General Assembly of Occupy Portland on January 8th, 2012. The action is endorsed by Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Longview, Occupy Seattle, Occupy Oakland, the ILWU international union, local 10, and local 21, Cowlitz-Wahkiakum (WA) Central Labor Council and San Francisco Central Labor Council.
