Gus Gustfarmakes was described in the July 16th, 1927, issue of the Oregonian as a person who had $21 stolen from him. He was at "Erickson's resort" (most likely Erickson's Saloon) at 307 1/2 Burnside "scrubbing the grime from his hands" when a person asked if he could spare a cigarette. Gustfarmakes answered in the affirmative, and indicated his coat, which was hanging up. The stranger helped himself to a cigarette as well as $21 that Gustfarmakes had in his coat at the time.
