Few memes have had the guts to hit the world in quite the same way that OWS has of late.
;This opening is a celebration of the art created at or about the camps and dedicated to the camps and the ideas and ideals behind the Occupy Movement, past, present and future.

OccupyPortland was evicted a little while ago.
Including over one hundred photographs from local photographers including Mark Kronquist, poetry, fiber, metal, ceramic and other artisans.

The camp was a place of... a lot of types of people including artists.
The exhibit will also include signs salvaged from the camp, which, at end of the show, will be donated to the Oregon Historical Society’s permanent collection.

;Twenty-five percent of proceeds from the event will be donated to the City of Portland for Park Restoration.

First, we will be 'occupying' in the sense that we all understand it.

Second, we will be displaying some of the art that came out of camp.

The basics:
* The location is being set in stone.
* The times are subject to change.
* This isn't our next 'camp.' And it will not 'hand' anyone a new sense of community.

The rules for this event are rather straight forward in my mind, but that doesn't mean that they're easy to put into words.

Money is (often) the elephant in the room and I believe that every artist should get what they deserve for their work.

Thus, if you believe that your art ought to be in this show-- please get in touch.

And if you join us at the show and see some of your art between our walls-- I'm begging you, please tell me and I will make sure you get paid for it and/or take the piece that you made and hand it back to you. Or whatever you, as the artist, want to do with your art.

;More details will be posted as they solidify.

(OHohoh-- Shout out to the mayor for many things, including the fact that Sam has this very beautiful, very Portland [read: hipster] painting I saw in the lobby of his office. If you've seen it, you'll know which one I'm talking about it. It has a guy in flannel or something and I think there's a pig in it but yeah, its really a great painting and has a goldish frame around it in the greeting room of the mayor's office in city hall.)
