A celebrity is a person or figure that has a high profile in social and media settings. Most common view of celebrities comes from their visibility in entertainment media such as tv, movies, and or sports. Though recognizable in their respective professions, they generally work to keep anonymity in public settings. There are celebrities who are known by name only, or by the their commercial or professional success. These include, directors, producers, writers, and scientists. They can be well known to the public or by only a specific trade or industry.
