Purpose

Coal Fuels the 1%, Keep It Out of the NW!

Come learn about the coal industry's dirty energy plans to export coal from the NW and what you can do to stop them.

We will be holding a teach-in where we will present information and create a space for discussion on this question as well as how the movement could have an ecological critique as part of its message and actions.

This conversation will be grounded in a discussion of climate justice, the work of Portland Rising Tide and coal in the Pacific Northwest as an example of the destructive practices occurring in our region. Join a discussion to find out how the world's dirtiest fuel is traveling through our backyard and strategize how we can stop coal in its tracks and keep it in the ground!

BONUS! The discussion will be followed by a fun street theater action!
