The Portland Timbers are an American major league soccer team based in Portland. The Timbers are officially be the 18th Franchise of Major League Soccer. The team will replace the USL First Division's team of the same name, while retaining the same ownership. The MLS club are the fourth Portland team to share the legacy of the Timbers name.
