:Thanks! I'm still getting the hang of public wikis and put some pretty generic stuff in those Foster-Powell restaurant pages. I guess I just don't know how much personal opinion & suggestions can be injected versus "just the facts, ma'am." I understand Wikipedia to be pretty strict about just facts, but I couldn't find a policy here about that -- but maybe I just didn't look hard enough. ::It's so early, we don't really have any policies (PortlandWiki:Policies is our page where we will link to them as they are created). We're sort of allowing our rules to develop organically, as needed... and as for the facts-to-opinion ratio I think consensus amongst the handful of editors here is to be less strict about POV/opinion than Wikipedia and more into writing in an entertaining and informative way. At least that's what I've been trying to do. Whatever you write will probably be appreciated though! -kotra (talk) 01:58, 27 April 2010 (UTC) | |||
Hi Brian! We are a bunch of wiki folk, some wikipedians, but many not - so we are growing this wiki organically and will see what happens - happy you are here!! I live in Foster-Powell as well - look forward to hooking up - maybe you can join us at WikiWednesday or at our Monday edit gatherings. Best, MarkDilley | Hi Brian!
