Risk your hide in Portland's naked bike ride! Waive your hands in the air "like you just don't care" at a live concert. Get religion by becoming a "Blazer Believer." Shamelessly show off your naked feet by hiking barefoot with Portland Barefoot Hikers. (more) Places to go near Portland Long Beach, Washington: Convenient Portland getaway and home to the "world's largest frying pan." Visit beautiful Timberline Lodge, a National Historic Landmark. The lodge was constructed in the late '30s as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the Great Depression. Ski the slippery slopes of Mt. Hood. Explore the active volcano at Mt. St. Helens. Meander along the Pacific Coast, less than a two day power walk from Portland. During Cascadia's wet months, succumb to a weekend bender in Bend, where the sun do shine most o' the time.
